Search for almost any home water question and look at what comes back. Manufacturers selling the equipment. Regional plumbing contractors whose pages are irrelevant unless you happen to live in their county. Big-box product listings. Forum threads where three strangers guess. For a decision that routinely costs between one and four thousand dollars and affects every tap in the house, that is a poor set of options.
Water Upkeep is the missing third party: we do not sell equipment, we do not install it, and we have nothing to gain from which brand you choose.

How our content is produced
We research from primary sources: manufacturer manuals and specification sheets, NSF and Water Quality Association certification listings searched directly, and publications from the EPA, CDC, USGS, state health departments and university extension services.
Drafting is AI-assisted. Every page is then reviewed, fact-checked and edited by a human before it is published, and a human is accountable for it. What we do not do
- We do not perform hands-on product testing. We do not run a laboratory and we do not measure flow rates or contaminant reduction ourselves. Where a number is a manufacturer claim, we say so.
